Privacy policy
Updated October 16, 2026
This page explains what personal data passes through The Cam Verdict, what it is used for and what you can ask. The publisher is established in France, so the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to everything the site does, wherever you read it from; for readers in the United Kingdom, the UK GDPR applies as well. It is a practical text, not legal advice.
Who is responsible
Le Bazar de Babylone, a company registered in France under SIREN number 949 972 475, registered office 8 rue de Dammarie, 77000 Melun, France. For anything about your data, write to grant@thecamverdict.com. The publisher's other details are in the legal notice.
What data we handle
What you send us
- Emails you write to us: your address, your name if you give it and the content of the message. They are used to answer you and to find the conversation if you write again. They are shared with no one.
- Removal requests: what you send under the content removal procedure is used only to handle the request, then kept as long as needed to show it was handled.
The site has no forms, no user accounts, no comments and no newsletter: the only way to reach us is by email. We never ask for sensitive data. If a newsletter opens one day, this page will be updated before a single address is collected.
What is collected automatically
- Audience measurement, without cookies. Vercel Web Analytics counts page views: the page, the referring site, the country, the type of device and browser, and which button to a platform is clicked (the platform and where the button sits). It sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser; it recognizes a visit during the day through a fingerprint of the request that Vercel computes and deletes after 24 hours. You can opt out in the audience measurement section.
- Visit statistics, only if you accept them. If you click "Accept statistics" in the cookie notice, Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity may load. Google Analytics 4 receives the usual data of a visit (page, referrer, approximate country, browser), with IP anonymization on, and records clicks on paid links (which platform, which link). Clarity records clicks, pointer movements and scrolling, and masks sensitive fields by default. If you refuse, neither tool loads.
- Server logs. Vercel, which hosts the site, keeps the logs needed to serve and protect the pages (IP address, page requested, browser).
- Two preferences in your browser, kept in its local storage and never sent to us: your cookie choice and your confirmation that you are an adult. Details are in the cookie policy.
We run no personalized advertising and no profiling, we do not sell personal data and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Why, and on what legal basis
- Audience measurement: the publisher's legitimate interest in knowing which pages are read and which platforms interest readers (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)), with anonymous statistics, no cross-site tracking and a right to object.
- Visit statistics: your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time; withdrawal does not affect what was processed before.
- Answering your emails and server logs: the legitimate interest in answering people who write and in keeping the site running and secure (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)).
How long
- Emails: as long as the conversation needs, then deleted.
- Audience measurement: 12 months in Vercel's reports, then daily totals per page only.
- Statistics: up to 14 months in Google Analytics 4 and up to 13 months in Clarity.
- Server logs: according to Vercel's retention policy.
- Preferences in your browser: until you clear them.
Who processes data on our behalf
- Vercel Inc.: hosting, page delivery and cookieless audience measurement.
- Google LLC: Google Analytics 4, only with your consent.
- Microsoft Corporation: Microsoft Clarity, only with your consent.
Paid links. When you click a link to a platform, you go first through the tracking service of its affiliate program, then to the platform. Both record the technical data of any web request (IP address, browser, referring page) and may set their own cookies on their own domain, under their own policies. We pass them no other personal data.
Audience measurement
Vercel's measurement needs no prior consent because it uses no cookies, does not follow you across sites and only serves the publisher's statistics. If you would rather your visits did not count, turn it off here: the choice is kept in your browser and nothing is sent from then on.
Audience measurement is on in this browser.
International transfers
Vercel, Google and Microsoft are based in the United States. Transfers rely on the safeguards of the GDPR: the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (and its UK extension) for certified providers, or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. These providers act as processors: they use the data only to provide their service.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us at any time for:
- access to your data and a copy of it;
- correction if it is inaccurate;
- deletion, except what the law requires us to keep;
- restriction of processing;
- objection to processing based on legitimate interest;
- portability, in a machine-readable format;
- withdrawal of consent to visit statistics.
One email to grant@thecamverdict.com is enough: say which right you want to use and, if it concerns an email you sent us, from which address. If we need to confirm your identity, we will ask. We answer within one month; if a complex request needs longer, within what the law allows, we tell you.
Minors
The Cam Verdict is for adults only. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you think a minor has sent us data, write to grant@thecamverdict.com and we will delete it.
Complaints
If you think your data is not handled lawfully, you can complain to a supervisory authority:
- the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés (CNIL), lead authority because the publisher is in France;
- the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), if you live in the United Kingdom;
- the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, if you live in Canada;
- the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), if you live in Australia.
If you can, write to us first: a problem is often solved with one answer.
Changes to this policy
If the tools or the way data is handled change, we update this page and the date at the top before the change applies.
